Recombinant monoclonal antibody to TSH beta. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 14H9.E4.A4.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P54828
Alternative Name(s) of Target: Thyroid stimulating hormone b; Thyrotropin subunit beta; TSHB; Thyroid-stimulating hormone subunit beta; TSH-B; TSH-beta; Thyrotropin beta chain; 14H9.E2
Immunogen: The gene encoding the mature β subunit of canine thyroid stimulating hormone (cTSHβ) was cloned, sequenced and expressed in Escherichia coli and in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells, and monoclonal antibodies against the recombinant cTSHβ, purified from E. coli, were generated.
Specificity: This antibody recognises ovine, canine, feline and equine TSH beta which is a crucial hormone controlling thyroid functions.
Application Notes: This antibody is capable of detecting TSH beta in a couple of important veterinary species. It may be used in the identification and analysis of TSH as well as TSH tests in veterinary medicine and research (Ferguson, 2007). For instance, 14H9.E4 linked to agarose beads was used to putify heterodimeric feline TSH (Rayalam et al., 2006).
